Our tyre and fitting service provides you with the tyres your vehicle needs to perform to its full potential. We can also assist you with a tyre health check and advise on the correct approved tyres for your vehicle should they need to be replaced. We offer a comprehensive replacement package (including the environmentally friendly disposal of your old tyres) at hugely competitive prices.

Tyre safety

It is important for you to check the condition and tread of your tyres regularly as any damage, foreign bodies, unusual tyre wear and insufficient tyre tread depth will all affect the drive quality and safety of your vehicle.

Pay particular attention to the sidewalls of your tyres and look for any bulges or cuts in them; this could be the result of kerb or pothole damage. You should also check to make sure that there are no signs of cracks appearing which are a sign of ageing.

Tyre pressure

The correct tyre pressure on your vehicle can help extend the tyre life, improve vehicle safety and maintain fuel efficiency. It is vitally important that you check the condition of your tyres regularly and make sure that the tyre pressures are set to the correct level (detailed in the vehicle owner's handbook). We recommend that you check your tyres at least twice a month or before any long journey, as incorrect tyre pressure is likely to cause irregular wear patterns.

Tread depth

You should check the tread depth of your tyres at regular intervals; the minimum legal limit is 1.6mm across the middle 75% of the tyre at any point. We would recommend that you change your tyres when they reach 3mm tread depth (78% worn), as tyres worn below this will greatly affect the overall braking and cornering performance of your vehicle whilst increasing the risk of aquaplanning when driving on wet roads.

Legal issues
Remember that if your tyre is un-roadworthy you compromise the performance of your vehicle and could also risk a possible maximum penalty fine of £10,000 and 12 penalty points on your driving licence.

Run-flat tyres

Run-flat tyres are specially designed tyres that enable you to continue driving when you have a punctured tyre on your vehicle. These can be supplied and fitted at Belgravia Garage.
